Stylish

Yesterday I thought of fixing Maia’s hair. i wanted to see if i can do pigtails. and I did! I thought kasi her hair was still too short but i managed to fix them hehe. Then Iya saw her sister and she was delighted with the new look.

“mama, i like maia’s hair…she’s stylish!”

Mike and i both laughed. Nagulat naman kasi kami. o diba stylish daw. I don’t remember using that term pa with her that’s why we were quite surprised hearing her say that. But atleast diba she appreciated her baby sister’s new do. :)

Sofia turns 5!

My little girl turned 5 last april 15! so she’s not so little anymore :) But I still find myself calling her “baby”! It was just a simple celebration at home. Mike bought her a  chocolate cake, a dora balloon with her name on it and the hungry hippo toy she’s been asking her papa to buy. We just had pizza, spaghetti and icecream. I was a bit quite sad since it was just the 4 of us :( I’m so glad iya didn’t ask for a party or anything. She was actually surprised it was already her birthday that day!

(grr…i forgot again how to attach pics here… i don’t see anything! argh!)

Ate knows best!

After attempting to know our baby number 2’s gender on three separate uiltrasounds… it was finally revealed yesterday! And we’re having……. another princess!!! You should’ve seen Ate Iya’s reaction–priceless!! She was sooooo happy! She was right all along, that she’s gonna have a baby sister! I was just even waiting for her to blurt out “i told you so!” but all she managed to say was “see, i have a baby sister!” and she kept on giving me kisses. She stood on a stool beside me all throughout the session. There was a huge monitor in front of us but she didn’t want to sit on the sofa to watch. She was standing beside me making sure I was okay :D She was watching at the small monitor where the sonologist was looking. And Iya was talking non-stop! commenting..asking questions..

We were all so delighted with the experience. This was my 1st 4D. During Iya’s time only 3D was available. What a huge difference! And my parents were with me, iya and my youngest sister. The ultrasound I had yesterday wasn’t actually planned. My OB wanted it around 30wks. But we were at the mall…and I got bored and passed by the ultrasound company… and I really really wanted to know the gender and I decided to go for it! I just asked baby number 2 to please please let me know now if she’s a girl or a boy. And luckily the first time the sonologist looked, there it was…her vajayjay! lol! :D At first I couldn’t understand since the sonologist just said ” this are her lips” and i was like…hmm where are the other parts of her face??? and she burst out laughing and apologized because what she meant was she was pointing to the lips or labia of the vajayjay! nyahahaha!

We witnessed the little one yawn..then put her fingers inside her mouth..and she even gave us a little smile, which the sonologist was able to capture! (too bad can’t post any pic i don’t have a scanner) she was moving a lot! I can’t wait to go back on my 30th week. I’ll get the package which includes a dvd recording of the whole session. It’s really amazing! 4D is a bit expensive but really worth it! Imagine showing it to your child when she’s old enough and telling her it’s a dvd recording of her while inside mommy’s tummy!

I’m on my 7th month now… time flies! Now, we’ve to think of a name :)

Update

I know… haven’t blogged since forever! lol! a lot has happened since I last wrote something…

…My precious Mac is dead :( won’t dwell into details. Let’s just say the repair/replacement of all the parts would cost me a brand new one! I miss my laptop but i can manage. I don’t wanna spend too much on anything since we have a baby on the way.  Baby expenses come first.

…Had a pregnancy scare.. thank God everything’s okay now. I’m on my 24th week. baby’s doing good. My OB just wants me to eat, eat, eat! Not that i am not eating ofcourse! Can’t wait til the end of the month for my check up and ultrasound. Hopefully we’ll see clearly now if baby 2 is a girl or a boy :)

My little girl’s doing good in school. She has her favorite friends and an itsy bitsy crush on this cute boy named Hans ;) But if you tease or ask her, Eric is still her boyfriend. (eric of little mermaid) I just noticed that in the morning if we arrive earlier than Hans, iya always looks for him. And when she sees him aba sinasalubong pa with matching very sweet “goodmorning Hans!” Even if her other boy classmates are there and i tell her to say hi to them, she won’t. She only has eyes for hans ika nga! loL!

Well i guess that’s it for now. It sucks that I can’t even upload pictures… oh well…..

Hope all of you are doing great!

bulol moments

Sofia: mama, who’s iring?

Moi: huh?

Sofia: who’s iring!?

Moi: baby i don’t know any irene/iring…

then she pointed out to the ironing board. It was laid out so she was asking who was ironing!

What’s the sound of your heartbeat?

During Sofia’s recent check up:

Pedia: I will just listen to your heart okay?

iya nods…

Pedia: Want to hear the sound of your heartbeat?

iya tries on the stethoscope…smiles…

Pedia: can you hear your heartbeat now? It says lub dub… (this is the medical term they use i think)

Iya: (protesting) NO!!!! my heart says dugdugdugdug! (as in hinukay! lol!)

My little girl’s 1st day in school :)

My h.s. friend Wen was right, i’d wake up early today :D 5:38 am to be exact ;) and that’s without any alarm! We were chatting a few weeks ago and I mentioned that I always wake up late. I get up no earlier than 9am. (blame it on pregnancy? lol!) And I was worrying I might not be able to wake up early enough when Iya starts school. But she told me not to worry ‘coz for sure the excited mommy in me will wake up early no matter what!

And so while my little girl was still in dreamland I prepared breakfast downstairs. Woke her up a little before 7am, (iya baby wake up now, you’re going to school today! “huh? now??”) She had rice, poached egg, corned beef and a glass of milk. And I sliced a whole apple for her snack in school.

We arrived at school about 10mins beore 8:30am. There was another boy who’s an early bird who happened to be his classmate. So the two sort of bonded first :) It was close to 9am already and I thought it was just going to be the two of them! But teacher Haizel told me there were 9 students in Kinder1 morning class. And they did appear albeit late :p

So they started off by tracing their name on a sheet of paper. I entered the room not aware that they were writing their name. I just wanted to tell the teacher that we use Iya’s 2nd name Sofia more often than Frances. And she suddenly said “ay kaya pala!” turned out while giving the paper, teacher Haizel told iya “okay now, it’s time to trace your name frances” to w/c my daughter replied “but I am sofia” nyahaha… She does know to give her full name when asked what her name is. But she’s used to being addressed as Sofia or Iya. Teacher also said Iya has a classmate who’s 1st name is Zsofia.
So now we have to call her Frances more often so that there wouldn’t be any confusion in class.

They sang a few songs and after that I got tired of standing outside the small window by the door to watch her..hehe They also had a 15 minute play time. And after 2hours it was goodbye teacher. (they will have their regular 3hour class starting next week.) The students also received their 3 books (science, math, writing/phonics) and 3 notebooks (one of which was already covered in plastic with their name on it! hmm… i wonder why they didn’t cover the other 2 lol!)

Photobucket

We went to SM North, had a hearty lunch. And since Iya got her books already, I bought her a backpack. Ofcourse it had to be a minnie mouse too! It was on sale also so yipee! I bought her additional socks and panties (kids can’t have enough of those anyway ;) )

So that’s how her 1st day went. Hoping the rest of her school days will be as exciting for her :)

How tall are you?

We were just chilling in the room with my mom when the ff conversation happened:

Sofia: Mama, can you check how tall am I? (stands on the bed)

Moi: Wow, you’re taller now! See, if you sleep a lot and eat a lot you’ll get taller!

Sofia: Mama, what number? (she wanted me to tell her exactly how tall she is)

Moi: (guessing) Hmm.. you are three feet tall!

silence…

she sits on the bed and proceeds to count…

Sofia: But mama look, I only have 2!

lol!!! :D I didn’t get it at first and my mom was already laughing hysterically and iya had to repeat that she only had 2 feet and not 3! :D

Eating her veggies

Iya eats veggies though not that often and not all kinds. She loves sayote in her tinola and she eats carrots but only if they were chopped really small… I forget the other ones she likes. Anyway since we arrived here my mom has been cooking a lot of dishes with sabaw. And I found out that Iya likes pechay and kang kong without forcing her to eat them.

I now asked my mom to start using malunggay since I plan to breastfeed nga. They say malunggay leaves can help you produce more milk. With Iya kasi I only started eating malunggay after she was born & I was breastfeeding already. Now i’m thinking if I start to eat malunggay early, i’ll have more milk! hence, breastfeed longer. hehe… Anyway, what do you know, Iya loved the malunggay! While having dinner she kept asking for “more leaves”

Everyone in the family’s eating malunggay now and they’re teasing me that if ever I ran out of milk, there will be a lot of volunteer in the house! hahaha!

The search is over!

And finally, after sleepless nights deciding where my daughter would attend school I found one that was near our place and where my daughter would hopefully enjoy and grow. (fingers crossed!)

The preschool is relatively new. I think they opened only about 4years ago. But I was willing to try this school because of the ff reasons:

- it’s near our place
- low student-teacher ratio. for Kinder 1 they have 10-15 students max per class.
- very accommodating teachers
- the rooms were airconditioned and very lively..err colorful. The students’ art works were displayed on the walls.
- they use progressive-montessori method as a way of teaching
- the directress was a former teacher at Early Achievers and I guess she adapted almost everything in her preschool (the rooms were almost the same as early achievers, uniform is checkered and almost sailor type too hehe)

I hope I made the right choice. I just want my daughter to enjoy and at the same time learn without being pressured too much. I already enrolled her so everything is paid for. The price of the school uniform i found a bit steep. The price of the blouse was different from the price of the jumper. And prices also differ according to size. Students are to wear the uniform from Mod-Thurs. Then P.E. uniform on fridays.

On the way to the school pala I was telling Iya nga that we are going to enroll her already. And she got really excited! What she said next caught me by surprise:

“And then mama when iya goes to school you will leave me alone okay? you just stay home!”

huhuhu… she can’t wait to get rid of me!! :(

My little girl is really ready for school!
